Program Focus

Dance

The Foundation supports the creation and production of new works by emerging choreographers through general operating support grants to their dance companies, and through commissions, workshops and production funding.

Literature

The Foundation supports the creation of new works of poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction by emerging literary artists through independent press publications, writers-in-residence programs, mentoring, fellowships, career initiatives and, on a very limited basis, readings.

Media Arts

The Foundation supports emerging media artists producing new works in all genres, with an emphasis on experimental work. Production grants are made to individual artists residing in Minnesota and New York City. The Foundation supports creative work in film, video, audio, interactive formats, on-line programming and new media. The Foundation does not support education, exhibition, broadcast and distribution. Limited funding is available for media artists' service organizations.

Multidisciplinary Work

The Foundation supports creative artists who work across disciplines through commissions, research and development subsidies and production grants.
