Review Process
Proposals submitted to the Foundation will be acknowledged by post card. The
program staff person assigned to the application will then contact the applicant to set
forth questions, possibly arrange for a site visit and complete any necessary steps prior
to the Board's review. Staff consults with experts in the various disciplines for their
confidential assessments of particular arts organizations and artists. If possible staff,
Directors and consultants will attend events associated with program requests.
The proposal is presented to the Board of Directors in the form of a written
narrative, budget analysis and recommendation by staff as to the disposition of the
request. The Directors may accept or reject staff's recommendation. The Board makes the
final grant decisions, which are then conveyed to applicants in writing. The Board will
not review appeals from declined applicants, nor will it reconsider proposals until one
year has passed from the time of the initial Board action.
