FAQ

New York City Film and Video

MAY I RECEIVE SUPPORT MORE THAN ONCE FOR THE SAME PROJECT?

No, our program will only provide one grant per project.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE MY PROJECT?

As long as you like, the Foundation does not impose time restrictions on the completion of work. We do, however, require annual progress reports.

WHY DON'T YOU HAVE APPLICATION DEADLINES?

We wait until we accumulate fifty, or so, proposals before convening a panel. Panels are held three times per year. Due to these realities, it is difficult to impose deadlines.

WHY DON'T YOU ACCEPT WORK SAMPLES AT THE SAME TIME AS THE WRITTEN APPLICATION MATERIALS?

Our panels are held in New York City. All written materials are submitted to our office in St. Paul, Minnesota. It simply makes more sense to have artists take their work samples to the facility where the panel meets. Otherwise, the Foundation would have to ship all the samples from St. Paul back to New York City.
