Literary Program Priorities - New York City

The Jerome Foundation intends to build, over time, a larger and more comprehensive Literature funding program in New York City.  The following four priorities will guide funding commitments in 2011 and beyond:

 1.  supporting programs that provide significant funding/payments to emerging writers, as well as significant levels of support services;

 2.  supporting programs in which support for emerging writers based in New York City and/or Minnesota is central to the program’s purpose;

 3.  supporting organizations in which serving emerging writers in New York City and/or Minnesota is a significant part of the organization’s mission; and

 4.  building a portfolio of literary grantees that provide support for the full spectrum of creation, development, and production of new works by emerging writers.
